Design Expo Raleigh’s Designer Market is a one
day market offering products designed or made by both emerging and established
designers to the general public. Designer Market is also the chance to
test-drive new designs or show a prototype to potential supporters. Products
will be available directly for sale or via commission.
Products accepted at Designer Market include: fashion and accessories; industrial, product and object design; jewelry; ceramics; furniture; digital and web-based design; and lighting. Stalls will be roughly 8’ x 8’ areas and exhibitors must furnish their own stall equipment. Please note that electricity will not be available.

Criteria:
There are a limited number of spaces, so competition for a stall at the Design Expo Raleigh's Designer Market will be extremely high. Please include as much information about your products as possible. Applications will be assessed by a panel of experts whose decisions to approve stalls will be based on the following criteria:
• Originality, creativity and novelty of design or concept
• Quality of finished work (if applicable)
• Type and number of similar products currently available in the marketplace
• Suitability for Design Expo Raleigh’s Designer Market
• Adherence to appropriate safety standards. Note: electrical or mechanical products are required to have relevant licenses and approvals.
Submission Requirements
- You are the original creator of the designs you are selling
- You have not copied anyone else's work
- Your design does not infringe on anyone else's intellectual property
- If the design has been created for a second party, you have the rights to show and sell the design to the public
General Rules and Regulations:
1. Stalls are rented to approved stallholders on a one-off basis.
2. Renting a stall does not create any form of tenancy or imply a future right or license.
3. Stall rental is totally at the discretion of the Design Expo Raleigh or its agents.
4. Approved stallholders are required to operate their stalls.
5. Design Expo Raleigh ’sDesigner Market stalls may not be transferred, sold or sublet.
6. Stalls must be attended at least 30 minutes prior to market commencement. Stalls not attended by this time can be re-allocated by the Design Expo Raleigh or its agents.
7. Visitors and customers of the Design Expo Raleigh must be treated with courtesy at all times and in accordance with fair trading practice consistent with consumer law. Stallholders must not insult or intimidate other stallholders, customers, visitors or staff. Failure to comply may result in closure of the stall.
8. Stallholders must comply with all reasonable requests from staff of the Design Expo Raleigh or its agents in carrying out their work.
9. Stallholders are required to remove all trash and materials from their stall at close of trading.
10. Design Expo Raleigh ’sDesigner Market will continue to trade in wet weather. However, the Design Expo Raleigh or its agents reserves the right to cancel the markets if weather conditions are deemed too dangerous.
11. The stallholder must comply with the laws governing occupational health and safety.
12. Any damage caused by a stallholder to rented property or structures must be paid for.
13. Stallholders have no right of recourse against Design Expo Raleigh or its agents for any loss, damage or changes to market operations.
Products
14. All products sold at Design Expo Raleigh’s Designer Market must be selected and approved by the Design Expo Raleigh prior to being offered for sale in the market.
15. All products must comply with relevant safety and compliance standards
Stall set-up:
16. Stallholders must store all materials and equipment safely within their designated stall area.
17. Stall display must be in keeping with the image of Design Expo Raleigh.
18. Public access ways must be kept clear at all times with all merchandise, equipment, signs etc. within stall boundaries.
19. All stall equipment shall be firmly secured to protect personal and public safety.
20. No permanent hanging devices may be attached to surrounding property or structures.
21. Stallholders are permitted on site between 7.00 am and 8.00 am and 5.00 pm and 7.00 pm for the purposes of bump-in and bump-out.
22. Trading is restricted to advertised hours of Design Expo Raleigh'sDesigner Market ( 10.00 am 5.00 pm ).
23. Stall rent of $60.00 must be included with this application (checks or money order payable to Design Expo Raleigh). If application is not accepted, the check will be returned.
